Those two words carry most of what makes us different.
Independent means we are not a branch or dealer of Otis, KONE, Schindler or TK. For modernization work we represent Smartrise, GAL and Innovation, and we disclose that when we recommend equipment. We’re not trying to migrate your building onto a proprietary platform, and we have no reason to recommend a modernization your equipment doesn’t need. When we tell you the equipment has life left in it, that recommendation costs us money, which is exactly why it’s worth something.
Union means the mechanics who work on your equipment came up through a real apprenticeship. Elevator work is unforgiving of shortcuts, and the training standard behind the person in your hoistway isn’t a detail.

How We Work With Buildings
We start by finding out what you actually have. Equipment type, age, controller generation, last Category 1, last Category 5, permit status, and the state of your maintenance documentation. In a surprising number of buildings, nobody currently knows all of that.
Then we tell you where you stand, in plain language, in writing, without inflating the urgency of anything.
Then we do the work, on a schedule that respects your tenants.
The complimentary consulting we offer comes from the same philosophy. An owner who understands their equipment makes better decisions, and we’d rather compete on that basis than on whoever writes the scariest proposal.
